Kid's Playroom Storage Tips

News flash: kids can be messy. From writing on the wall to getting grass stains on their jeans, it seems that us parents are always cleaning their messes.

This, perhaps is most evident in their play area. Whether your child has a dedicated play room or they use their bedroom, it seems that finding a way to keep their toys organized is an impossible task.

If you are looking for some creative ways to organize and store your children's toys, try utilizing some of these tips:
  • Use an over-the-door shoe organizer. You know those shoe organizers with dozens of pockets that you hang over the door? You can use them for more than just shoes – including stuffed animals, action figures, art supplies, and more.
  • Buy a bunch of clear, stackable bins. When it comes to storing as much toys as possible, maximizing vertical space is key. Stack storage bins on top of each other to keep everything tidy and out-of-sight. To make things easier, use clear bins so you can view its contents without opening the lid.
  • Utilize the walls and ceiling. When you run out of storage space on the floor, turn to the walls and even the ceiling for help. Mounting shelves, hooks, and rods to your walls can offer extra storage space and free up room on the floor for activities.
  • Have an organization system. If your child has all different kinds of toys, you should implement a system to help keep things organized. Every toy should have a specific place that it goes when it isn't being used. Label drawers, bins, and boxes to avoid confusion and make sure everything finds its respectful home.
